To the northwest of the county of León, in the middle
of heart of the Picks of Europe in it abuts her with Asturias
and Cantabria, he/she is the Valley of Valdeón. The landscape,
impressive, is without a doubt one of the most beautiful and spectacular
of the Spanish geography. The sharp and high picks that attract
today to visitors' thousands, were in another time the barrier
that propitiated the geographical isolation of this region leonesa
that together to the great distance with the nearest population
nuclei forced the inhabitants of Valdeón to create their
own hábitat of survival. With the step of the time some
of the daily facts of that time have been ingrained as traditions.
One of them is the elaboration of the Blue Cheese of Valdeón.
